GCSE Results 2015
21 August 2015
Our students and staff are celebrating after our latest GCSE results see the school enter the top 10% of similar schools in the country.
For the third year in a row results have improved at the school and we are seeing more and more students achieving the best exam grades, in the face of continual changes to the curriculum and the way exams are assessed.
In particular we are celebrating significant results in traditional curriculum subjects such as English, French and Science, where 100% of candidates achieved high level passes in Chemistry.
Geraint Parry, the transformational Headteacher, who has overseen the dramatic rise in the schools fortunes and reputation commented: “We achieve our success because our students learn in a “calm and harmonious environment” (Ofsted 2015). Our students form productive working relationships with teachers that care, and we make no apologies for having the highest expectations of our students, and they have once again made us very proud.”
Among the students receiving the best grades was Diane Smith. Our deputy head-girl collected 4 A*s 5 As and a Distinction Star. She is going on to study Maths, Biology and Chemistry A levels.
We’re delighted that students are able to fulfil their potential and students who achieved success at The Birkenhead Park School are continuing to achieve great things. Two years ago the school celebrated with Riona Kelly who earned wonderful GCSE grades, and last week secured a place at Cambridge University to study Linguistics.
Max Palmer last week followed his impressive GCSE grades with two A* and an A at A Level. Max studied at The Sixth Form College Birkenhead after completing his GCSE’s at the school and studied Mathematics (A*), Graphics (A*) and Film Studies (A). Max is going on to study The Foundation Diploma in Art Design and Media at the College from September.
Geraint Parry added “Our teachers, sponsors and the whole community take great pride in seeing our students’ success. Today’s GCSE results are the latest in a journey that sees The Birkenhead Park School as the only school in Wirral to climb league tables every year since 2012 data. It comes as no surprise to me that we continue to build on our success and remain the school of choice, with applications rising every year.”
