Festive Fun at The Birkenhead Park School
19 December 2025

As the year draws to a close, The Birkenhead Park School has been getting into the festive spirit.
Throughout December, our students and staff have taken part in a wide range of Christmas activities, from festive performances to charity initiatives, all of which have helped to bring our school community together in the run-up to the holidays.
Over the past few weeks, staff came together to donate a wide variety of toys and gifts for local children and teenagers as part of the Wirral Council Toy Appeal. These generous donations were placed under our BPS Christmas tree before being collected and kindly delivered by our Year 8 and 9 Student Council members.
Our Student Council also visited several local charities and organisations, including The Hive, Wirral Ark, Birkenhead Fire Service and Park House Care Home, to deliver further gifts. These visits provided a wonderful opportunity for our young people to give back to those who support our local community throughout the year.
On Friday 12th December, the school held its annual Christmas Jumper Day. Students donated £1 to wear a festive jumper, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation - a charity chosen by our learners. Alongside this, a special bake sale was held, offering a selection of delicious treats. Together, these activities raised a fantastic £374, helping Make-A-Wish to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
This week, our Year 7 and 8s took part in further fundraising during PE lessons through a sponsored Elf Run. Dressed in classic elf attire, learners ran multiple laps of the sports hall to complete a 3k run, raising money for the Wirral University Teaching Hospital Charity.
On the evening of Wednesday 17th December, our young people took to the stage to deliver an absolutely fantastic performance of Cinderella to an audience of friends, family and staff. Featuring brilliant acting, plenty of humour, superb singing and dazzling dance routines, the show was extremely well received, with a standing ovation and even audience members joining in with the dancing during the finale.
Finally, on the last day of term, students enjoyed a range of festive activities, including rewards assemblies to recognise achievements and attendance, Christmas-themed quizzes and games in form time, and a return of the popular inflatable assault course - a perfect way to end the term.
It has been a fantastic year at The Birkenhead Park School, full of hard work, unity, and success - including our best-ever GCSE results. We look forward to seeing what the new year brings and hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
