Table Tennis County Finals

The team had been part of a tournament involving six teams and got through to the finals along with Calday Grammar School.

The day arrived on Thursday 17 March and the students were amazed at the facilities Halton Table Tennis Club had to offer.

Feeling nervous at the prospect of playing against some nationally ranked players, the team performed really well and put in a strong performance during the day.

It was a close tournament with The Birkenhead Park School finishing in seventh place out of 12 overall.

Subject Lead for PE Miss Ponton said: “The boys had a great day and the opportunity to play against some very talented players from other schools. I was extremely proud of their performances and effort, as well as their leadership skills as they all took part in umpiring throughout the day. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will continue to work hard in their practice sessions and hopefully play in some more fixtures soon.”
