Birkenhead Park Student Shines on BBC North West Tonight

Last night, one of our fantastic students, George, featured on BBC North West Tonight!

George, who volunteers as a Junior Leader and Ambassador at The Hive, appeared on the programme as he and the rest of The Hive Ambassadors are finalists for the BBC Radio Merseyside Make a Difference Awards. These awards shine a light on incredible people making a positive impact in their local communities.

George works alongside other passionate young people to support the local area - from raising awareness about period poverty to leading litter picks, they are truly making a difference.

One recent standout project was the Intergenerational Project, where the team visited supported living schemes to run activities, host tea and chat sessions, and build meaningful connections between generations. The impact was clear, as some residents even left their rooms for the first time in months to see what was going on and to get involved!

The winner will be revealed at a special ceremony this month. We’re incredibly proud of George and the rest of The Hive team - good luck!
