Maths Challenge
2 May 2017
The UK Mathematics Trust Challenges are lively, intriguing multiple choice question papers designed to stimulate students’ current interest in Maths.
The school has entered students from both Year 7 and Year 8 who show an interest and engagement within the subject to further excel themselves. The Maths Challenge papers will be taken into school and returned to the UKMT for marking. After the results of these multiple choice questions, the most successful students will be invited to enter follow up rounds, which will require full written answers.
As part of the Challenge, students needed to be able to recognise cross-curricular links with Mathematics skills.
Miss Clarke, Acting Second in Mathematics, said: “ The UKMT Maths Challenge is a great way for students to push themselves further. It helps them to really engage with the subject and recognise their own potential.”
Aaron, Year 7, said: “I really enjoyed taking part in the Challenge. Maths is my favourite subject at school I really enjoy problem solving.”
