Students given elite Performing Arts training from LIPA

The ten week course is run by LIPA graduates and funded through an outreach scheme.

Workshops include dance, acting, back stage technology and music, and aim to develop an enjoyment and understanding of the elements of Performing Arts.

Head of Performing Arts Mrs Houghton said: “The Birkenhead Park School is very proud and honoured to be a Secondary Partner School for the LIPA outreach programme and we have had a long standing relationship with LIPA. These enrichment sessions aim to raise the aspirations and achievements of our students and show them the options for further and Higher Education within the Arts.”

The workshops started in January and are running every Wednesday until Easter. At the end of the course the students will have produced some performance work to be shown to an invited audience of friends and family.
