Primary pupils cook up some Easter treats on a visit to the school
23 March 2016
51 Year 6 pupils were welcomed by our Year 7 team and shown around our unique Year 7 Base which helps ease our younger students from primary to secondary education.
The children were split into two groups and took part in Food Technology sessions where they cooked Easter mini carrot cakes with butter icing to link up with their Easter topic in school.
One of the pupils said: “It has been great; I’ve had a fantastic morning. Our cakes look lovely and I can’t wait to eat them!’
After their taster session the children were given a short rewards assembly hosted by Acting Headteacher Mrs Johnson.
Assistant Head of Year 7 Mrs Kirwan said: “It is always a pleasure to have Woodchurch Road Primary visit. Their students are always so well behaved and enthusiastic and I know they had a great morning with us. I look forward to their next visit and to welcoming some of the pupils to The Birkenhead Park School in September.”
