NSPCC Number Day a huge success!

Students have been taking part in NSPCC Number Day where numeracy is celebrated with a range of fun activities- and they even had the chance to pie a teacher as part of the day’s events.

Other activities included a maths treasure hunt around the school, a cake sale and a raffle. The money raised was all donated toward The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).  This maths- inspired day has been held for the last 20 years and the process helps to put a focus on numeracy and raise money to protect children from harm.

Money was also raised for the event of the day which gave students the opportunity to pie a teacher at lunchtime. The students who could remember the most digits in pi were invited at lunchtime to pie a teacher of their choice!

Seven brave teachers took to the hall stage, including Mr Cassidy, Miss Clarke, Mrs Orchard, Mrs Chong, Mr Mee and Mr Brown, and students could select the teacher they wished to pie with the results being very messy.  

The day was a great success with over £200 being raised for the NSPCC and lots of fun being had whilst celebrating numeracy across the school.
